…if I did not show off my most recent wine making acquisition. I ordered it a few months ago at the The Home Wine, Beer and Cheesemaking Shop in Woodland Hills. It came in about a month ago, but recent events kept me from mentioning it.

I will use it to press the 100 pounds of Fiano I will be getting from Dave Vanni, in Gilroy, the 100 pounds or so of Suisun Valley Montepulciano from my friend, Jeff Miller, and whatever Aglianico I bring in off my vines.

Properly maintained, a press can last a lifetime. I hope that my vineyard will thrive and I will be able to put my new press to good use. If my efforts with Vanni’s Fiano are successful, I will put in a small block of the variety next year. I also have some Sangiovese waiting in pots.
